We do NOT dock the puppies' tails.  The reasons for tail docking are purely cosmetic.  There is no physical benefit for the dog in having a docked tail.  The AKC rarely accepts poodles with natural tails to be shown, so owners of show dogs prefer their dogs to have  docked tails in order to be more successful in dog shows.  Poodles with natural tails can participate in United Kennel Club shows.  UKC allows poodles to have docked or natural tails. 

If you prefer your poodle puppies tail to be docked, we need to know this prior to the birth of the expected litter.  If you place a deposit, and prefer a docked tail, we can schedule an appointment with our vet when the puppies are three days old to have their tail docked.  We can not have their tails docked when they are older.
