Poodle Sizes

There are three poodle sizes. The poodle sizes are Standard, Miniature and Toy.

Standard Poodle Size

Standard Poodles are the largest of the poodle sizes. They are greater than 15 inches tall and they weigh between 40 to 70 pounds.

Miniature Poodle size

These poodles were developed after poodle breeders decided to continually breed the smallest standard poodles from various litters together. This resulted in a miniature poodle that typically measures 10 to 15 inches high and weighs between 10 and 15 pounds. This poodle size was used as truffle hunters in the woods.

Toy Poodle size

The Toy Poodle is the smallest poodle. This poodle size had been used as circus performers in the past. Then they were bred as companion animals. They are less than 10 inches tall and weigh between 4 and 6 pounds.

All three poodle sizes make amazing pets.  They are all affectionate, agile, smart, and eager to please. The temperament of your poodle will depend on their environment and the temperament of their parents.  Temperaments are not better or worse depending on the size of the poodle puppy.    Poodle Temperament
